GOA seeks to end hybrid work for all employees
The Government of Alberta (GOA) announced it will discontinue its Interim Hybrid Work Policy starting on Feb. 1, 2026.
This would impact approximately 44% of the workforce, or 12,600 staff.
AUPE is reviewing the government’s announcement and will share more information with members soon.
We believe the hybrid work language is clear. Members should request to work remotely as usual. If your employer denies your request, you can file a grievance.
